Musical Director Steven Cowperthwaite.	Roger Brooks	Registered Charity No 515334

Born in 1947, Roger Brooks was educated at Worcester Royal Grammar School from where he gained an open scholarship to the Royal College of Music. At the RCM his studies included organ (with John Birch) harpsichord (with Ruth Dyson) and conducting (with Denys Darlow). On leaving the RCM Roger taught music first at Bromsgrove School and then at Dean Close School, Cheltenham. He then became head of music at Dodderhill School, Droitwich as well as becoming organist and choirmaster at Saint John's Church, Bromsgrove. Throughout his career Roger's special interest has been in choral conducting and vocal coaching in general. He was appointed conductor of BGCS in the autumn of 1997, and sadly, announced his resignation from the position in November 2001. He conducted us for the last time in our Annual Christmas Concert on the evening of 22nd December 2001. He went to take up the appointment of Musical Director of the G.C.O.S.in Guernsey.
